Dr. Bill Anderson is a research geneticist in the USDA/ARS. His area of expertise is in Crop Genetics and Breeding Research Unit in Tifton, Georgia. He is responsible for breeding perennial grass species for pasture, hay, and biofuels for the southeastern United States.

Dr. Anderson, from New Hampshire, received a BS in Biochemistry from the University of New Hampshire. He also received his MS and Ph.D at North Carolina State University. Additionally, he spent 3 years in the Peace Corps in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo) teaching and working on nutrition projects with local hospitals and farmers. His focus has been on genetics/breeding in peanuts and cotton throughout his career.
