Dr. Brooks Mendell is Principal of Forisk Consulting, a forest industry and timber market research and education firm.

Brooks has fifteen years of operating, research, and consulting experience in forest business and finance.  His experience includes roles in harvest operations and wood procurement with Weyerhaeuser, in management consulting with Accenture, and as a member of the forestry and finance faculties at the University of Georgia. His research emphasizes the analysis of timber and timberland markets and the management of risks in the forest products industry and timberland investing sector.  He teaches courses and seminars on Timber Market Analysis, Risk Management in Forestry, International Finance, Strategic Analysis in Forest Business, and Communication Skills.  As a Fulbright Scholar in 2004, he traveled to Uruguay to teach courses on forest finance and risk management in forestry.

Brooks earned BS and MS degrees at M.I.T., an MBA at the University of California at Berkeley, and a PhD in Forest Finance at UGA.
