Cynthia Poselenzny has worked in the manufacturing and service environment for over 20 years when a job transfer moved her to Atlanta. During her work in Atlanta she was introduced to the construction industry and the problem of waste within that industry. Becoming co-owner of Packer Industries, Inc., which is a manufacturer of equipment specifically designed for recycling a variety of materials, she was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of being able to own her own business and make an impact on her community. Cynthia’s strong community focus has enabled Packer Industries to partner with the University of Georgia, on many educational initiatives, research projects, and outreach efforts providing critical leadership to the Georgia Composting Association and become a primary industry contact for information on processing and recycling of construction waste and debris. Packer Industries, Inc. has partnered with Earthcraft House, the Building America Program, the Rebuild America Program, the EPA Wastewise and Greenscapes Program helping to grow this new and expanding industry. Our membership in the USGBC will allow us to continue our work to manufacture the best equipment for the industry and to assist in the research necessary to grow this very important component of green building.
