Michael Ohlsen has been with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) since 1996, having joined the Florida Energy Office in 2004. He is responsible for managing projects, handling technical inquiries and conducting outreach and education related to: Bioenergy, Biofuels, Energy Efficiency, Green Building Practices, Energy Star Program, Hybrid Vehicles, Wind Energy and Emergency Operations Center (Fuels). His previous duties at DEP centered on promoting pollution prevention and recycling. Prior to DEP, Michael worked as director of a Governor-appointed advisory committee (Florida Recycling Markets Advisory Committee), staff engineer for the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), and officer in the U.S. Air Force. His education includes an MS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. |
