Nathan McClure currently leads the Georgia Forestry Commission’s Forest Products Utilization, Marketing, and Development program. He has most recently been named the Director of Forest Energy and Development for the agency. Nathan has been with the Commission for over 22 years serving in a variety of positions including: serving in the Commission’s Research Department where his focus was on biomass for energy and the Brender Demonstration Forest; managing Dawson and Paulding Forests; and providing technical advice and services to forest landowners as a Reforestation Forester. Nathan’s current assignment includes the challenge of creating additional values from Georgia’s forests through marketing and new product development; including biomass for energy, a system to substantiate carbon sequestration values, as well as working with traditional forest products industries.
